Do you feel lost, like you don’t know what you want to do with your life?
Are you struggling to understand your true purpose and your passion?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this four-part blog series is for you. It will guide you and will help you navigate your way to find your true self. And eventually it will help you set your goals and achieve them!
Every part of this series will present you with a set of questions to answer, and a set of challenges to accomplish.
Grab a journal (if you journal), or a piece of paper and a pen will do just fine! And let’s dive straight into it!
In Part 1 we will talk about:
Self love and self appreciation
“It’s not enough to just have dreams. You need courage to pursue those dreams. This journey will not always be easy, but it’s 100% worth it.“
In order to truly step into your journey of achieving your goals and your dreams, you have to first learn to love and appreciate yourself. Remember, you are perfectly imperfect! Being happy and successful means you embrace your imperfections and love yourself just the way you are.
Self love will help you listen to yourself and really follow YOUR dreams and aspirations.
So, are you ready?
1. If your best friend and/or your loved ones were to describe you, what would they say?
What do they love most about you?
Challenge: Start looking at yourself from someone else’s perspective. Your friends and family not only love you, but they love specific things about your character, how you treat them, the experiences you’ve had together.
Once you’ve made your list, for each of the things they love about you, write down WHY you think that is.
What makes you good at it?
What proves that you are good at it?
2. What do you love most about yourself?
Now, name at least one appearance feature and at least one personality feature that you love most about yourself.
Yes, we should embrace our imperfections. But we also need to love aspects of ourselves that help make us truly unique.
Challenge: Come up with a compliment for yourself. Write it down on a post-it note and put it somewhere where you can see it and read aloud to yourself every day.
Yes, it will feel weird at the beginning, but please try it! After you do it several times, you will notice that you start looking at yourself in a different, more positive light ?
3. What are you most proud of about yourself?
Challenge: Write down no less than three achievements from last month that you are proud of.
Your achievements can be big or small, it doesn’t matter. What really matters is how they make you feel. If it’s something that lights you up in a way that you can’t describe, it’s worth being proud of!
4. How can you express your self love to yourself?
There are so many ways you can show yourself self love!
Treat yourself. Nurture yourself. Have you done this lately? If not, why not? Why don’t you do it more often?
It’s OK to take that time for yourself every day. It doesn’t have to take long, but it’s something that’s just for YOU.
Challenge: Do something for yourself today. It can be:
- Aroma bath
- Walk in the park
- Buying new shoes or a new purse
- Unplugged coffee break
Whatever it may be, do something that will really make you feel loved and appreciated!
We hope this has helped you brainstorm some ideas on how to focus on loving and appreciating yourself. You do so much for the people around you, and it’s time to stop and celebrate YOU.
